Stay of removal

Problem

Our client had had an application for permanent residence long outstanding.

We received news that he had been detained and had been set with removal directions for that evening, having been coerced into withdrawing his outstanding application.

Strategy

MAGNE & CO took telephone instructions prior to drafting a statement, Grounds for judicial review and a bundle of c:120 pages over a period of three hours. We lodged the bundle before the High Court by mid afternoon.

Solution

We secured a telephone injunction from the High Court Judge that evening suspending removal. Our client was later granted indefinite leave to remain.
