Problem
The government is constantly changing the rules. An overseas nurse, had secured work permit employment at a time when settlement would be granted after four years employment. By the time she came to apply for settlement the rules had changed to require five years residence. Her application was refused and appeal dismissed. The former representatives lodged a compassionate application and two years later on, and many thousands of pounds later, this application was declined. MAGNE & CO were then instructed.
Strategy
We advised our client that as she was a nurse with many years experience as a renal specialist, a new application should be made on this basis.
Solution
Permission was granted within six months, and for approximately one quarter of the costs, than those charged by the former representatives.
